About Mud Trucks

Mud bogging is one of the most popular sports in the USA and Canada. It is also called mud dragging, mud racing or mudding. It is an off-road motor. The objective of the driver is to get his truck through the mud until the finish line on a set length path.

The most important aspect at a mud truck is its engine. Nowadays, mud trucks have overcharged engines. Over charged engines have the role to get the truck through difficult terrain areas. Using the over charge the mud truck can get out of the mud.

Suspensions are very important at a mud truck. They have to be just right. They have the role of increasing the speed on the track. But also they must correspond to the terrain type. Too high suspensions will decrease the mobility of the mud bogging truck. Too low ones will get the mud bogging truck stuck in the mud.

Nitrous oxide is also a key element. No modern mud truck can miss the nitrous oxide. An impulse of nitrous oxide can be the difference between losing and winning. Because of the mud, getting stuck is almost inevitable. And the only solution in many situations is a good impulse. And that impulse is given by nitrous oxide.

There are six classes of mod bogging trucks.

Vehicles in the IA and IB class are stock ones.

Vehicles in the II class are modified stock. They have mild modifications, but nothing serious.

Vehicles in the III class are pro stock. Their engine is the one from the factory.

The IV class includes the vehicles with modified engine.

V and VI class vehicles have modifications permitted. Also they have supercharged and turbocharged engines. In this class nitrous oxide is permitted.

Mud bogging trucks come in various classes. Each class with its own characteristics.
